Reporting to Parents Taskforce 3 May 2006
The Reporting to Parents Taskforce will work with parents, educators and others to make recommendations to the Minister on best practice:
  • for reporting to parents on the progress of their children;
  • to ensure reports provide all of the information parents want including academic achievement, attitude and areas for further development;
  • to ensure reports are clear and easy to understand;
  • to ensure student reports help schools and parents to plan for each child’s future learning; and
  • to report on Essential Learnings into the future.

Parent Taskforce to Engage School Communities 11 May 2006
A new Taskforce to identify strategies to improve parent and community involvement in school life has been announced by Education Minister David Bartlett. Parents and educators can discuss this initiative with the Minister between 4:30pm - 5pm on Thursday 11 May, 2006.

School Bullying 1 June 2006
Education Minister David Bartlett has released findings of the review by Atelier Learning Solutions into school bullying. Parents and educators can discuss the report with the Minister at an online forum between 11:00am and 12:00pm on Thursday 1 June.

Qualifications and Skills for Tasmania Tomorrow
The Minister for Education, David Bartlett, has unveiled the most important reform of Tasmania's post-compulsory education system in 35 years.
Qualifications and Skills for Tasmania Tomorrow will revitalise post grade 10 education to improve outcomes for students and help drive Tasmania's long term economic and social well being.
Tasmanians are invited to participate in an online conversation that will be held on Thurday, 14 June (11.30am-12 noon) and Friday, 15 June (11.30am-12 noon).
